Francheska, "Scuba Franny", Krysiak, is a marine conservationist, scientific research diver, and dive instructor. From a young age, she chased her dream of becoming a marine biologist and her work advances marine conservation initiatives, both at home in Canada and abroad.

In 2015, she was first introduced to the world of scientific diving during a field course on reef fish ecology at the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences. Since then, she continued developing her diving skills and accumulated over 3500 dives as a Master Scuba Diver Trainer, as well as graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Marine Biology and a Masters in Marine Management. Her past research projects have focused on anthropogenic (or human) impacts in a variety of marine ecosystems, including Atlantic Canadian seagrass beds and the Meso-American Barrier reef. She has conducted hundreds of underwater science surveys on SCUBA and participated in numerous volunteer conservation projects in the Bay Islands of Honduras. Other than conducting scientific activities, Francheska loves experimenting with underwater photography and cataloguing all the diverse marine life she encounters. Most recently, she has taken the plunge into the world of closed-circuit rebreathers with her Hollis PRISM2 to extend her research diving capabilities.

Presently, she contributes to advancing conservation management programs in protected areas with Fisheries and Oceans Canada, as well as supporting scientific diving expeditions abroad with the California Academy of Sciences.
