IT ALL STARTED WITH A COMPASS
Our heritage of high European standards of manufacturing, goes back as far as 1936 when Tuomas Vohlonen created a mass production method for the Liquid-filled compass. Since then, we have been at the forefront of innovation, creating authentic technological and functional outdoor and dive instruments used by adventure seekers all over the globe. All Suunto dive products are still handmade in Vantaa, Finland – even today. A timeline of our product innovation is unparalleled in the dive industry, starting in 1965 with the introduction of the SK-4 diving compass, through to the release of the next generation in dive instruments – the EON Steel.

Rooted in Finnish design, Suunto puts a premium on simplicity and functionality. Noted for their aesthetic appeal, comfort, and practicality, Suunto products have won numerous design awards over the years, including the the Red Dot Award, product design 2012: One of the largest and most renowned product design awards in the world.
THE SUUNTO RGBM HERITAGE - SUUNTO ALGORITHMS
At the heart of every Suunto dive computer is an algorithm – the reduced gradient bubble model (RGBM) – that calculates decompression for a dive. Relentlessly pursuing the best models for divers of all types, Suunto continues to push for RGBM perfection. A rich history full of science, development, and underwater experience lies within every Suunto dive computer.
